I’ve been fishing as long as I can remember.

My earliest Brooklyn angling took place in Sheepshead Bay and at the Canarsie Pier.

Long Island became my home in 1969, where I first fished with friends off of a rubber raft in the Great South Bay or at the Captree Boat Basin.

Fish were plentiful then.  It was a time when flounder were often caught as double headers; many having been snagged by the tail!

Now, almost 40 years later, fluke and sea bass are still plentiful in the Moriches Area!

During my College years, I traveled the world as a performer with the Long Island Youth Orchestra.  In many of the 48 countries that I visited, fishing was the preferred method of spending my precious spare time. 

 Whether it was fishing for Tuna in Tobego, Dolphin in Costa Rica, Cod in Norway, Sting Rays in the Galapagos, Salmon in Alaska, Grouper at the Great Barrier Reef, or diving with Manatees in Florida, I always longed for the waters and fisheries of Long Island.

 Now, after 34 years of teaching instrumental music in the Public Schools of Long Island,

I’ve moved my second love to the forefront of my life by becoming a Captain!

From Sunrise West:
Go East to exit 59.  At the second light, turn right (South) on Railroad Avenue to Montauk Highway.*
From Sunrise East:
Go West to exit 60.  At the light, turn left (South) on Railroad Avenue to Montauk Highway. *
From the LIE West:
Go East to exit 70.  Turn right (at the new light) on Route 111.  At the light (by the 7-11), turn right on Chapman Blvd/Railroad Avenue to Montauk Highway. *
From the LIE East
Go West to exit 70.  Turn left (at the new light) on Route 111.  At the light (by the 7-11), turn right on Chapman Blvd/Railroad Avenue to Montauk Highway. *

* At Montauk Highway, turn left and go several miles (East) until you see Tony's Sushi, a hardware store, and a gas station in East Moriches.
At that light, turn right (South) on Atlantic Avenue.  Windswept Marina is near the end of the road on your left.
